The Magnolia AI Accelerator is being renamed Magnolia Renivo — this is a rebrand, not a new or replacement product. Nothing you've built on the Accelerator changes or breaks.
The rename follows July's general release of agentic AI (AI Accelerator 3.2.0), which let the assistant move from single, button-triggered actions to autonomous, conversational, multi-step actions inside Magnolia DXP.
The new name reflects that shift: the product no longer just accelerates work you drive step by step — it has agency, understanding intent and acting within the boundaries you set.
Renivo still follows Magnolia DXP's bring-your-own-model approach: no Magnolia-owned AI model, no vendor lock-in, and full control over cost and data residency.
Enterprise-grade guardrails are built in: tool access is opt-in and approval-gated, the agent inherits the user's own permissions, and it can never publish without human review.
Magnolia Renivo: Why we're renaming the AI Accelerator
This past July, we hit a milestone we'd been building toward for a long time: agentic AI went into general release inside the Magnolia AI Accelerator, shipping as part of AI Accelerator 3.2.0. Since then, we've kept iterating because this is the beginning of a new way of working in Magnolia DXP, not a single feature drop.
Now, we're taking the next step. The AI Accelerator is being renamed Magnolia Renivo and it brings Intelligent Agency for the Enterprise.
Why rename now?
The Accelerator name did exactly what it was supposed to do. It described a foundation — a set of tools and patterns that let teams move faster with AI inside Magnolia DXP. That foundation isn't going anywhere; it's still here and still expanding.
But something fundamental changed in July. Agentic AI marks a real shift in how work gets done in Magnolia DXP, not just what tools are available. Previously, AI-assisted actions were triggered one at a time through buttons in the Magnolia DXP UI — discrete steps that required a person to link them together. Now, an agent can hold a conversation, understand intent, and carry out multiple connected actions with a degree of autonomy: search your content, then reason over the results, then act on them, all from a single request.
That's a bigger idea than "accelerator" was ever meant to capture. An accelerator speeds up existing work you're still driving step by step. What we've built now is something with its own agency — it understands, decides, and acts within the boundaries you set.
Intelligent Agency for the Enterprise isn't just a tagline; it's a description of what changed: agency, not just acceleration, delivered with the governance, security, and control an enterprise needs. So rather than stretch an old name to cover a new purpose, we felt this was the right moment for a new one — Magnolia Renivo — to reflect where the product is actually headed.
What "agency" actually means here
A few things are worth calling out about what shipped in July and what it unlocks:
Content understanding, not just content matching. Renivo gives the agent access to your content through a vector database index, so it understands meaning and context rather than just matching keywords. Search for "finance," and it can surface related concepts like accounting or loans — content you'd have missed with traditional text search, without you having to tag or categorize anything.
An extensible agent, built on open standards. Using a simple open protocol, the agent can reach beyond Magnolia DXP to connect with external APIs, documents, or catalogs, and teams can build fully custom tools in Java where they need something bespoke. Editors can stay in one place — searching, summarizing, and pulling in outside information — instead of jumping between systems.
Reasoning, not just automation. Because the agent can reason over content rather than just move it, it can do things like read a Word draft, understand its structure and formatting, and migrate that into a Magnolia DXP page built from components — no code required, just an explanation, the way you'd brief a colleague.
Bring your own model, still. Renivo continues Magnolia DXP's long-standing approach: there's no Magnolia AI model and no obligation to use a specific provider. You choose the system that fits your needs, your data residency requirements, and your budget — and you can change it later.
Security built in from the start. The agent can be disabled entirely for teams that don't want it. Every tool it can use must be explicitly enabled, so nothing new reaches the agent without approval, and rollouts can be piloted with a small group before wider release. The agent also inherits the access roles of the person using it — it can never do something a user isn't already permitted to do. And critically, it never publishes without human review.

What this means for you
If you're already using the AI Accelerator, nothing about your existing setup breaks — the patterns and tools you've built on are still there and still growing. What changes is the name over the door, because what's behind that door now does more than accelerate. It has agency — it reasons, it acts, and it does so with the guardrails to be trusted with real work in the enterprise.
We're calling this new chapter Magnolia Renivo: Intelligent Agency for the Enterprise. If you want to see it in action, Chris Jennings walked through live demos — searching content, pulling in analytics to spot performance issues, and building a full page from a Word document — in our recent product webinar. It's available to watch on demand in the Magnolia Academy, and several more sessions in the AI webinar series are open for sign-up later this year.
