Where Magnolia DXP sits in analyst evaluations

Magnolia DXP has been named a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms for four consecutive years — 2025, 2024, and the years before, which we reflected on ahead of the 2023 placement. In 2026, Magnolia DXP was included in Forrester's Q3 CMS landscape.

If you are earlier in the evaluation and still settling terminology, start with what a DXP is and how the CMS evolved into the DXP. For Gartner coverage specifically, the Gartner tag page collects it in one place.

What analyst research means for Magnolia DXP

Independent analyst research — from Gartner, Forrester, and others — sets the vocabulary enterprise buyers use to evaluate a Digital Experience Platform (DXP): composability, orchestration, agentic AI, governed delivery. Magnolia DXP is built around those same capabilities, and this page collects what the analysts publish, what we take from it, and the licensed reports you can read in full.

Analyst research is useful to you in two ways. It tells you where the category is heading, and it gives you a neutral yardstick when you build an internal business case. We use it the same way. The posts below cover Gartner Magic Quadrant placements across five years, Forrester's latest CMS landscape evaluation, and the research we license and republish on core banking modernization, banking personalization, B2B website consolidation, and AI strategy for insurance. Where a report describes a capability, we show you a customer already running it in production.

Composable architecture as an orchestration layer over your core systems

Magnolia DXP works as a modular orchestration layer. It sits above your core ledger, policy administration, product information, and customer data systems, and decouples the experiences your customers see from the systems of record you cannot safely replace. That architecture is what makes modernization incremental instead of all-or-nothing — a point we have made since customers started innovating faster than their software vendors, and the reason we describe ourselves as a team player rather than an all-in-one suite.

Gartner reaches a comparable conclusion for banking. In Core Banking Modernization Acceleration Trends, Gartner projects that by 2028, 50% of banks will use agentic AI for legacy modernization, with most seeing a 3x improvement in time to deployment — our read on that report is here, and the full report is available to download.

The proof runs ahead of the forecast. Union Investment consolidated more than 70 brand and campaign sites onto one Magnolia DXP instance, reducing 100 editor components to 40 and four separate code bases to one. EFG International completed a global digital merger in four months and made its authors 80% faster. Neither touched its core banking systems to do it.

Agentic AI and content orchestration

Magnolia DXP orchestrates AI agents inside governed workflows — with human-in-the-loop approval, role-based permissions, and full audit trails on what an agent changed and when. The agent proposes; a person approves; the platform records it.

Forrester's The Content Management Systems Landscape, Q3 2026 describes the same shift at the category level: through innovations in generative AI and agentic AI, content management systems are evolving into agentic systems of engagement and action rather than content repositories alone. Forrester also projects the CMS market growing 13.5% in 2026, with 71% of B2B and 72% of B2C marketing decision-makers planning to increase CMS investment. Magnolia DXP was included among the 31 vendors evaluated — full write-up here.

Global Blue is running this now: translation costs down around 70%, delivery times from weeks to seconds, workflows 80% faster, across 14 languages. That is orchestration doing the work, with editorial control intact.

Personalization at scale and AI-ready visibility

Magnolia DXP delivers personalization from a unified content and data layer, with consent tracking and privacy controls built in, and publishes structured content that both search engines and AI crawlers can read. The same content model serves a customer on your site and an AI agent evaluating your offer on their behalf.

Gartner's research on banking customers makes the sequencing clear: 34% of retail banking customers switch providers for a better website or mobile app, and customers are 5.14 times more open to using generative AI tools when their bank personalizes engagement extremely well. Personalization is the prerequisite, not the follow-up — we unpack that here, and the licensed Gartner report is available in full.

Alior Bank shows what the yardstick looks like in production: 24% more new accounts, a 188% increase in mortgage loan applications, 54% growth in organic search traffic, and bounce rate down from 30% to 10%. RHB Bank moves faster and converts better on the same foundation.

Governed delivery across brands, sites, and regions

Magnolia DXP centralizes governance across every brand and market you operate: one content model, role-based permissions, automated versioning, and audit trails that hold up under review. Magnolia DXP is ISO 27001:2022 and ENS (High) certified and SOC 2 Type II attested, with GDPR support and DORA readiness.

This is the capability analysts consistently weigh, and it is where silos do the most damage — a fragmented stack cannot tell a consistent story across touchpoints. Gartner's guidance on converging disparate B2B websites into a single seamless experience makes the same case for commerce, service, and marketing sites. Salling Group cut costs 45% across more than 20 websites; Generali brought over 70,000 employees onto one platform.

Industry-specific analyst coverage follows the same logic — see our reads on AI strategy for insurance CIOs and why insurers need new business models, not incremental change.
