Magnolia is strongly influenced by touch and will work fully on mobile devices. Any experience you have with GWT, Vaadin and other frameworks is a plus. Experience developing mobile sites is an advantage as our clients build them routinely. Your broad experience will help you to advise clients on how to implement their Magnolia project successfully.  Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality software design and architecture
  • Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development lifecycle
  • Develop tools, modules, functionalities and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Use Agile development methods, e.g. the SCRUM methodology
  • Use state-of-the-art development tools like Jira, SVN/Git, Maven 3, Jenkins etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Java
  • User interface development experience using languages such as CSS, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript or JSON
  • Experience with developing mobile optimized websites and apps
  • Suggest development, integration and deployment approaches for specific requirements
  • Get exposure to the Java and open source communities
  • Review and debug code
  • Perform validation and verification testing
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve products
  • Document development phases and monitor systems

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related will be valued
  • Extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management
  • Outstanding communicator and coordinator, ability to interact with multiple teams
  • Experience with Web application development and UI development
  • Strong knowhow of Web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery, as well as Java
  • Broad experience of operating systems, application servers, databases and related products
  • High scalability projects involving cloud-based infrastructure design and implementation
  • Successful track record of developing quality software products and shipping production ready software
  • Good understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability
  • Experience debugging distributed systems with high data loads
  • Deep understanding of distributed data model
  • Design, develop and implement unit and scenario testing for existing code base and for new functionality under development
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
  • Experience developing mobile sites an advantage
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally
  • Has mentored junior software developers on design patterns, development best practices and DevOps trade-offs
  • CH/EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit is mandatory
  • Fluent in English and German
