First DX Day in Amsterdam packs the action on digital experience

What do you get when Magnolia brings its partners, customers and other digital business practitioners together in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam? An insightful tour into how large and innovative digital experiences have been built - whether it’s around Dutch passions like football and bicycles, or about how companies like traditional insurer Allianz and semiconductor device manufacturer Nexperia created customer-first journeys that lead to high-converting websites.

DX Day Amsterdam held on May 11 pulled in about 75 attendees and featured presentations from Magnolia partners info.nl, Tricode, TRIMM and commercetools. It was the first in Magnolia’s new series of roadshow conferences around Europe bringing together partners, customers and digital business practitioners - to get them sharing and talking about the pivotal issues they face in implementing large-scale digital projects.

Magnolia DX Days are one-day learning and networking events for professionals and executives in CMS, digital experience, web development, e-commerce and marketing - those wanting to come to grips with challenges such as how best to get content passing through different channels from mobile apps to responsive web, how to improve website personalization, or how to easily integrate a CMS with back-end systems and other tools.  

At the Amsterdam event, the audience had the opportunity to dive into how Voetbal International, the oldest football magazine in the Netherlands, kickstarted its content platform vi.nl to help generate new business models. VI developed its new website with the power of Magnolia, using its content apps framework, versatile APIs and stories app for super-fast publishing. Vi.nl went live at the end of April and gets up to 6 million page views a day.

The audience also learned how ZEG, Europe’s largest bicycle coop connecting over 1,000 bicycle dealers selling well-known brands, built an online sales platform that enables its dealers to launch new merchant and brand stores within days. ZEG achieved this by integrating heterogeneous online sales infrastructure and multiple SKU data across various systems into a future-proof, flexible online commerce solution for its dealer network.

The talks were rounded off with more discussions over a networking evening on the roof terrace of the Volkshotel, with superb views over Amsterdam.
