REWE’s online shop rewe.de has won first prize in the multi-channel category of the Internet World Shop-Awards. An expert jury presents the awards annually at the e-commerce trade fair in Munich.
Indulging Shopping on all channels: the supermarket chain wants to be available 24/7 with its online shop at rewe.de. Its aim is to be there for customers at all times and to showcase its products on the internet. Customers can order either via the site or the REWE app and have the items sent conveniently and directly to their home. In addition, customers can choose from a wide range of recipes and add the ingredients to their virtual shopping baskets.
In order to realize this digital shopping experience, REWE decided to use the flexible e-commerce platform commercetools, together with the CMS solution from Magnolia. commercetools offers a system that allows retailers to manage complex product catalogues easily and to reach customers on all different channels. As a modern content management system, Magnolia helps its clients to manage all kind of multimedia content to create valuable content pages.
The concept of showcasing its products in the shop as well as online convinced the jury, made up of well known e-commerce experts.
