Magnolia Organization and the OpenWFE Group today announce a strategic alliance. The goal of the alliance is to bring Magnolia's renowned ease-of-use to the OpenWFE Workflow Environment, supply Magnolia with outstanding workflow capabilities, and provide professional support for the OpenWFE Workflow Environment.
Magnolia Content Management is the leading open source content management system built on the revolutionary java content repository standard (JSR-170).
OpenWFE Workflow Environment is the leading cross-platform workflow environment implementing the complete set of standard workflow control patterns.
The alliance between the two independent projects will bring outstanding workflow features to the complete Magnolia Content Management Suite, which already uses OpenWFE for its upcoming "Magnolia for Electronic Forms" product. Further applications are the use of OpenWFE as a web flow engine for the Magnolia framework, and to position Magnolia as an integrated member of a fully OpenWFE-orchestrated business-process environment.
Magnolia will replace the default web-client supplied with OpenWFE, thus considerably enhancing the visual experience of the OpenWFE Workflow Environment. As a future step, the powerful visual editor used in "Magnolia for Business Processes" will be made available to define OpenWFE workflow definitions and track their execution.
