CSC Develop Financial Portal for Scottish Widows with Magnolia CMS
Business solutions giant CSC has chosen Magnolia CMS to deliver its latest online Corporate Wealth Management portal solution. The system has already been implemented by financial services giant Scottish Widows as the core of its new “MyMoneyWorks” website, giving employees enrolled in corporate schemes, the ability to manage their pensions and other financial services portfolio through the integrated service.
New corporate financial portal uses Open Source Java CMS to deliver greater trust and intimacy
Scottish Widows is investing circa £25m over five years in MyMoneyWorks, which brings together an individual’s employee benefits infrastructure and the rest of their financial portfolio, presented in a single, integrated view, accessible anywhere, anytime. The user has access to education and unbiased guidance material and tools such as a financial health check and a pension planner, which guide the user through the complex world of financial planning.
In current market conditions, these new services provide the customer with a vital sense of control and transparency, delivering an engaging user experience that improves customer loyalty and increases trust. At the same time, the new system also reduces fixed costs and improves competitiveness, delivering a radical improvement in service efficiency.
Magnolia CMS was a core component of the groundbreaking MyMoneyWorks solution. Magnolia provided a comprehensive web content management platform that was easy to use and easy to extend, and integrate with back-end systems: providing a balance between functional, technical and commercial requirements.
Magnolia has an architecture that is easy to understand and adaptable to almost any situation. We chose Magnolia to allow us to mix and match Web 2.0/AJAX application components alongside managed web content without a Portal and were not disappointed.

With 11 corporate customers and 15,000 end-users at the time of launch, Scottish Widows expect the MyMoneyWorks site will be hosting nearly 25,000 employees in 30 different companies by the end of 2011.
