Retail
Retail online strategy is an essential mix of brand building and e-commerce, where availability is mission critical. Downtime or even slow performance mean large financial losses and brand depreciation.
Your group portal requires centralized site and content management for your portfolio of sites in various languages and on multiple devices. It should integrate data, such as vendor products and promotions and be able to aggregate content back out to your portfolio of retail sites.
Your e-commerce site is mission critical to your organization's turnover, where every conversion counts and responding quickly to changing demands, while managing thousands of product lines are every day challenges for your site.
Benefits of Magnolia CMS solutions for retail groups
Retail data integration, enrichment and embedding
Magnolia's high extensibility makes integration with other frameworks a snap. The following are examples of systems which have already been integrated into Magnolia retail sites.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) e.g. SAP
- Product Information Management (PIM)
- Data warehouse
- Shopping cart e.g. Konakart
Once product data is imported into Magnolia it is combined seamlessly with editorial content on the page and is available for editors to enrich with further imagery and creative writing. Content can then be repurposed for additional retail sites.
Multi-site, multilingual
Manage any number of sites from one central version. Regional and language variations can be automatically updated by having simple template differences, so that content can be created in one site and instantly rendered in its various formats elsewhere.
(SEO) Search engine optimization
Magnolia automatically generates search-engine friendly URLs, sitemaps and is designed to help pages load quicker. Authors can be prompted to add valuable meta data to each and every page and content can easily be categorized to support discovery by interest with keywords. Landing pages are also a piece of cake to create, driving even more traffic to your site.
Mobile sites
Magnolia's imaging engine can generate variations for mobile devices. Combine this with a custom template and CSS style sheet to publish content in mobile-friendly format. HTML5 makes the site feel like a native mobile application while XHTML delivers the content. Deliver longer documents to tablets such as iPad in electronic publication format.
Templating for simplicity & time saving
Magnolia's templating kit is a best-practice framework that allows quick design updates of production-ready sites, pages and page elements. Create your sites with minimal effort, speed up production and ensure best practice.
Microsites and landing pages can be easily created by applying a different look to the page template and, together with a vanity URL, generate super quick campaigns.
Enterprise scale availability
Magnolia has been built to enterprise requirements regarding availability. For your site this means faster and more reliable performance. More importantly, it means your customers will always be able to access the content they want.
Imaging engine
Instead of resizing individual images, upload a single source image and configure Magnolia to generate variations for teasers and thumbnails on-the-fly. This is particularly useful for retail sites using different variations of an image on front page and section pages to tease a product or promotion.
Reduced risk
Magnolia is developed in Open-Source, which means we have nothing to hide. While proprietary vendors do not publish their code, Magnolia can be freely examined by all. We believe the 'many eyes' approach makes Magnolia stronger, which is thanks to a large community of contributors who help us make the product and ultimately your users' data, even more secure.
Content categorization
Magnolia enables editors to categorize products and content and display them in grouped lists for faceted search, quick navigation or access through a category cloud. Categorization allows you to build highly dynamic, interactive sites.
