Magnolia CMS' inline page editing interface makes editing content simple and elegant. Where appropriate, it supports direct drag & drop and highlights editing options depending on where you click, making is clear what actions can be performed.
Magnolia CMS also includes keyboard support for the preview function, making it fast and simple to switch between editing a page and navigating or previewing pages.

Magnolia CMS is simple and intuitive, empowering the users, whilst ensuring continuity through defined rules, corporate style and structures. Magnolia CMS delivers 'inline editing’ in the main website with no need for content authors to use a separate admin interface for navigation.
Placeholders indicate where content can be created
Magnolia CMS placeholders clearly indicate where you can add content to your web page. By clicking into the area where you wish to add content, green edit bars and placeholders appear.
Native Drag & Drop
Magnolia CMS includes native drag & drop where appropriate and when supported by the Internet browser. Alternatively, the 'move' button also allows you to move content to places that are outside of the current view.
An area is a region of a page. Areas allow to group content complements and set properties that influence the complete area. Examples include the navigation area, the main area or the footer area.
STK, Magnolia's Standard Templating Kit has supported the concept of areas on a page since its inception. We have taken what we learned from STK and implemented area support directly in the core of Magnolia so that everybody benefits from area support.
Point & Click: Edit what you see
With Magnolia CMS, content authors can instantly edit any page currently being displayed in their browser within the exact same look and feel as the public website. Within the preview mode, they can navigate to the desired page exactly like on the live website, then switch to edit mode and click on the content they wish to edit.
All authoring tasks such as managing the site hierarchy and inline editing are carried out in a browser - no client installations are needed.
Web, Smartphone, iPad: Visualize the published result with Channel Preview
The preview button in the top left corner of every page allows you to visualize content exactly as it will appear on a desktop, smartphone, tablet or custom channels.
Add, Delete, Move, Edit
Magnolia's ease-of-use is clearly evident in the page editor. It coudln't be simpler for authors to add, delete, move or edit content. Clicking on a content component displays the actions available to any given author. These actions can be customized depending on the autor's editing rights.
Content within a Magnolia site is organized into areas, such as teasers, side-bars etc. Controlled by templates, these areas can be easily managed and quickly updated to react in the same way accross the whole site. Placeholders clearly show where areas can be added to any given page.
